Art Glass Tree

Shortly after the Christmas holiday season is still a pretty good time to find holiday related decor. This little find will go perfectly well in my art glass tree collection. I suppose it could be displayed year-round but I prefer to rotate them out for other collections since there's no shortage in this household. It measures 8" tall and was picked up at a thrift store the other day for $3.99. It can be fairly difficult to identify the maker on something like this without any markings or labels still attached. A large number of manufacturer's have made this type item for some time now, and most of which are all imported these days. I particularly like this one for the gold mica panel cased beneath a layer of crystal (crystal being referred to as a color btw). Time to pack it away with all the others until late November.

Newest addition.

Collection of art glass trees purchased mostly from thrift stores over the last couple of years.
This one is a new addition for 2011. It's a gorgeous piece of art glass made by Simon Pearce of Vermont. Purchased from Gump's SF.
